Egan For Seattle

Had a good forum tonight on housing affordability transportation and climate change. Councilmember Sawant sat next to me and I gave the most biting critique of her yet: fine on values, little on results.

Meanwhile she was throwing a fundraiser for the LGBTQ community while she was at our forum. She let staff handle that. Which is what she’s done with the residents of D3.

You have to show up to do the work. How do you throw a fundraiser and not stay there for it? I guess when you’re running a national campaign and not a local one you outsource the work.

I will always show up for you. In person. The job of a Councilmember should not be outsourced.

I remember when gay marriage passed, she showed up to the celebration march at the court house yelling and angry (at who knows what). At that moment I realized that gays were just a token for her to exploit for her platform. She couldn’t even just celebrate with us and be happy for our moment. I never liked her since. And I think it’s disrespectful she is using the gay community again for her platform when she doesn’t care or show up.

You are ther live & in person! Go Egan!
